b'Troy DonockleyRoger Bucknall -King of the Fylde FrontierWhen I was 13 years old, my Dad took me into a dingy second-hand music store in Blackpool on the west coast of the North of England. It was there that I had my first experience of the mystical beauty of a Fylde Oberon Guitar. I know this sounds pretentious, but it didnt sound like Nashvilleit sounded like the land I lived in, and I still cant figure out why. There was no chance of buying such a guitar but my Dad suggested that One day.Since then, I have amassed at least 764 of Rogers creations and have traipsed them around the world, exposing them to all kinds of mayhem. But I can feel HIM in them toohis splendid tickly laugh and lovely self. You feel safe that the instruments were born of his meticulous second-to-none knowledge, see-sawing with his sense of Big Fun and Adventure. Hes brilliant and I love him. But I would never tell him that. Oh, wait a minuteI HAVE! And countless times!Long may he reign. He is irreplaceable.18'
