I was the creative director for this programme of learning. It was developed as a series of lesson plans - timed and fully resourced with visuals aimed at stimulating the learners.
The illustrations were especially commisoned from Deborah Theobald to compliment each lesson.
What’s Whole Brain Learning about?
OriginsMany of the techniques included in this programme of lessons have been proving their worth for centuries. Together with newly revealed knowledge about the human brain, they make use of the natural functions and processes of the brain to enhance learning – right across the curriculum and beyond.
Purposes
Rationale
The brain has two sets of complementary functions that appear to be located in the left and right hemispheres. By applying techniques that draw on both hemispheres, learning is dramatically accelerated.
Strategies for using both hemispheres have been around for centuries. This programme builds on the neuro-science and brings established techniques together into a cohesive structure of lessons that offer schools and colleges a programme to empower learners with a whole suite of techniques that help them learn more effectively and more enjoyably.
Effects
Learning can become a real pleasure with its own rewards. Teaching becomes the means by which that pleasure is released. This brings its own rewards to teachers.
By learning more effectively, students will achieve more in less time and thus be freed to pursue interests and topics that can help further increase their understanding of their subjects.
